Live at the London Remix festival this November

Dogan and his Boombox Karavan have been confirmed as one of the headliners at the London Remixed Festival 2012 on Saturday 24 November, performing alongside likes of Ska Cubano and Molotov Jukebox. The festival promises a live musical cocktail of Global London, showcasing the best talent the UK has to offer. Remixed for the 21st Century, it has everything from Roma to Rumba, Latin beats to Afro funk, new folk to no folk.

The festival is the ‘love child’ of Continental Drifts, Movimientos, Two For Joy, Wormfood, The London Folk Guild and Kazum – promoters who programme stages at the likes of Secret Garden Party, Wilderness, Bestival, Glade, Boomtown, Festival Number 6, Shangri-La Glastonbury, Big Chill and Lovebox among others. London Remix encompasses music, film, performance arts and parades across three London venues in Shoreditch for 24 hours. Dogan will be performing at Rich Mix in the evening, with festival goers needing one wristband to access all events.

Full line-up and event details will be announced on 26 October. But no need to wait for that. Early Bird tickets for £10 are already on sale. Buy yours here: http://londonremixedfestival.com/

Outlandish in Evening Standard’s CDs of the Week

Dogan’s Outlandish album features in this week’s Evening Standard as one of its CDs of the Week. Each week, music critics for London’s top newspaper select the best pop, world and jazz albums. Outlandish sits alongside Bloc Party’s Four, Bill Fay’s Life Is People, Yeasayer’s Fragrant World, The Darkness’ Hot Cakes, and jazz legend Miles Davis’ Swiss Radio Days, Vol 31.

In his review of Outlandish, Simon Broughton calls Dogan “one of Britain’s most intriguing folk musicians” with “an original and infectious talent.” Read the full review here:
